Relation between Pakistan and Iran

1.Relations between Pakistan and Iran: Worst part

Relation between Pakistan and Iran has always been significant and historic so far. There is a formal mechanism of border control management between Pakistan and Iran under which any issue is contacted through hotline, red frequency or telephone. Not only this, the border authorities of both countries also hold flag meetings on important issues as needed. If they wanted a terrorist within Pakistan’s borders, Pakistan should have been informed.

Relation Meagers by recent incident:

Pakistan and Iran are two such neighboring countries whose relations have been exemplary since the establishment of Pakistan while both have been supporting each other’s position at all international forums including the United Nations. In this ideal situation, the drone attack by Iran on the rural area of Balochistan was an incident that shocked everyone, while it was completely incomprehensible to the people of Pakistan.

On the day of the attack (Tuesday), Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar was in Davos on the sidelines of the Davos Forum and was met by Iranian Foreign Minister Amir Abdullahian, but he did not give any indication of his country’s plans. After the incident in which two girls were killed and four people were injured in the attack, Pakistan summoned the Iranian Minister of Affairs to the Foreign Office and recorded its protest and made it clear that Pakistan has the right to respond.

Later, Islamabad not only recalled its ambassador posted in Tehran but also refused to welcome back the Iranian ambassador posted in Pakistan (who is currently in Tehran). It was then that Iran broke its silence and accepted responsibility. The Iranian Foreign Minister admitted that the attack was carried out inside Pakistan. He said that the target of the attack was the terrorist group Jaish-ul-Adl.

He alleged that this organization belongs to Israel. Jundullah, another organization related to Al-Qaeda, is the head of the same Jaish-ul-Adl. The suspension of diplomatic relations by Pakistan on Wednesday is the most extreme form of protest that a peaceful civilized country can take to express its reaction.

This reaction regarding Islamabad-Tehran relations is very unusual in the sense that this situation has occurred for the first time in the 75 years of relations between these two countries. According to observers, due to the dominance of the Revolutionary Guards in Iran, this situation has come to light that respect for the geographical borders of other countries has not been paid attention to. A country that does not recognize the sanctity of other countries’ borders declares that its own borders are also not sanctity.

It is not pleasant for anyone to see such a situation in a cradle of knowledge and literature like Iran for centuries. According to the news that came in the form of the statement of the Pakistani Foreign Office on Thursday, on the morning of January 18, Pakistan targeted the specific shelters of terrorists in Sistan province of Iran, in which several terrorists were killed.

According to the statement, the terrorists were living in areas deprived of the government of Iran. This operation carried out on intelligence information was named “Marg Bar, Sar Machar”. The statement further stated that due to non-action of serious concerns, the so-called “Sarmchar” have been shedding the blood of innocent Pakistanis.

The action is Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to protect and defend national security against all threats, according to the Foreign Office spokesperson, the dossier containing concrete evidence of the presence and activities of terrorists was shared with Iran.

The highly complex successful operation is a testament to the professionalism of Pakistani forces, Pakistan will continue to take all necessary measures for the safety and security of its people. It would be good if Islamabad and Tehran accept China’s offer of mediation and take joint action against terrorists and make efforts to make the whole region a cradle of peace.
