A Change in the Thinking of the American People?

A Change in the Thinking of the American People?

In the United States, on November 7, elections for governors in three states and for members of assembly, mayors and local councils of the year were held in many other states and cities. In the gubernatorial elections, as expected, a Democrat was elected from Kentucky, while a Republican was elected from Louisiana and Mississippi. Sheila Jackson, the chairman of the Pakistan Caucus in the US Congress, contested the election of the mayor from Houston Texas, where a large number of Pakistani Americans live, but was defeated by a few thousand votes, however, due to the fact that the winning candidate could not get fifty percent of the votes. There will be a re-election between the two next months.

Two Pakistani Americans have also been elected in the New Jersey state election. From District 37, Shama Bunyad Haider has won for the second time while from District 40, All Birlas has been elected as a member of the state assembly for the first time, who is very popular for his services in the area. Shehryar Ali, a young Pakistani-American attorney from Safak County, Long Island, a suburb of New York, contested the state assembly election for the first time, but lost by a few thousand votes. The Pakistani American community played an active role in Shehryar’s election campaign. The interest and involvement of young Americans of Pakistani origin in local politics is very welcome. A large number of Pakistanis live in New York and the adjoining state of New Jersey, and events continue despite the cold weather on the invitation of Dr. Arshad, the dear President of Apna New York Chapter of Doctors Association, attended the annual function of the organization, which was held in the spacious hall of Marriott Hotel Long Island. Pakistani diplomats, active doctors and local Pakistani media friends met in the event.

Dr. Ijaz Ahmed, head of appac, a well-known organization of Pakistanis based in America, is also on a visit to Pakistan along with Deputy Speaker of the New York Assembly, Phil Ramos, where he participated in several public welfare programs and distributed relief funds. Navid Waraich, a political and social leader of the state of New Jersey, also organized a luncheon at a local restaurant, which was attended by prominent doctors and businessmen of the community. During his stay in Boston, Massachusetts, while attending an event at the world famous Harvard University, he had the opportunity to meet young Pakistani students and was happy that a large number of Pakistani children are seriously completing their studies in the world’s great educational institution.

These students expressed their concern about the declining quality of education in Pakistani schools and gave a message to the children studying in Pakistan to master the English language and choose those subjects that are popular all over the world for a better future for themselves and the country. Be in demand. After the futile attack by Hamas at Harvard, UCL, Columbia, Cornell and other American universities, continuous protests are ongoing for the attacks on innocent Palestinians by the Israeli Defense Forces and the martyrdom of thousands of children. Demonstrations are going on against Asr-e-Ili brutality and for ceasefire. The American people, especially the new generation, are realizing that hate crimes around the world must stop. Former President Trump did not participate in the third presidential debate of the Republican Party in Miami, Florida, while all other presidential candidates participating in the debate assured the Israeli government of full cooperation in the recent conflict; mentioning human rights violations in the region didn’t even do it. The Jewish lobby in America is very strong financially and politically, and no political party can come to power by displeasing it.

Therefore, both major parties cannot back down from supporting the Israeli government. Sensing internal and external pressure, President Biden is trying to bring about a ceasefire in Gaza. In this entire situation, the Muslim population of America is in a dilemma as to which presidential candidate and party to support in the next election. America’s five major swing states are where a difference of a few thousand votes can decide the winner of an election, and two of them are states where the united vote of Muslims can be decisive. In such a situation when there is unrest and anxiety everywhere, countries and forces around the world, including the United States, Russia and China, must change their thinking of erasing others on the basis of color, race, nationality, economic superiority and religion. An accident may occur that threatens the existence of the entire humanity.
